in compliance with the regulations of the people’s republic of china on the exploitation of offshore petroleum resources in cooperation with foreign enterprises, china national offshore oil corporation (cnooc) issued the following announcement of notification for bidding blocks offshore china of 2021:

in 2021, nineteen (19) offshore china exploration blocks covering an area of 26,600km² are available for bidding. among them, two (2) blocks are located in the bohai bay with an acreage of 470km², twelve (12) blocks are located in the pearl river mouth basin with an acreage of 20,800km², three (3) blocks are located in the qiongdongnan basin with an acreage of 3,042km², and two (2) blocks are located in the yinggehai basin with an acreage of 2,284km².

in 2021, cnooc will continue to uphold the spirit of openness and win-win cooperation in attracting foreign investment, explore new cooperation models on the basis of the currently adopted standard contracts, and offer more attractive commercial terms for blocks in deep water and/or deep formations, in pursuit of a higher-level cooperation with foreign partners and a new landscape for win-win cooperation.
